For reasons unknown, sometime Google incorrectly redirect or set your local area such as your home is in India but it really tells you are in Pakistan. Sometimes completely wrong location could stop you from using certain iGoogle
You can tell the location base on the URL itself such as:
www.google.ca : Google Canada
www.google.com : Global/America
Now what you should do is to type inside the URL base on your local area such as www.google.ca if you are in Canada. If you wish to change this permanently, just set the default search preference URL on your browser.
There are other specific URL that are useful:
1. www.google.com/ncr
Ncr refer to "no country restriction" which can be an alternative to www.google.com and this will likely always takes you in order to google.com without redirecting an you.
2. http://www.google.com/search?q=
This is a default url when you search using Google.com. Precisely what this trick do is rather then going to google.com hom page that will redirect to a location specific search, it may directly open a seek result.from Google.com which prevent redirect.
